Hand-carved canopic jar features the human-headed figure of Imsety, one of the Four Sons of Horus in ancient Egyptian belief. Imsety was entrusted with guarding the liver of the deceased, and his likeness adorned canopic jars used in burial rituals dating back to the Old Kingdom.
Carved from solid black basalt, this piece pays tribute to the spiritual and symbolic legacy of Egyptian funerary customs. The body is decorated with protective motifs, while the lid showcases the solemn, human-headed figure of Imsety.
